PAT EGAN - BRIEF HISTORY

From writing for new Spotlight Magazine in the 1960's, to opening Dublin's first underground Record store The Sound Cellar, Pat Egan has spent 40 years at the forefront of the Irish Entertainment business. A one time Club and Radio Caroline Dee Jay, Pat had six music stores in Dublin and Cork in the 70's, graduated to Promotion and Agency in the 80's and was the first promoter to run RDS Simmonscourt with "Queen", had Bob Marley in Dalymount Park in 1980 (Marley's last outdoor show), was long term Promoter and Agent for Eric Clapton, Billy Connolly and Status Quo. Pat has promoted shows in every Theatre in Ireland and pioneered the first ever outdoor events at Dalymount Park with Status Quo, Meat Loaf and Black Sabbath. His Angler's Rest and Backstage Bar's we're popular music venues in the late 80's.
Pat Egan Management currently runs up to 150 shows a year including the Olympia Pantomime starring Jedward, the most popular and successful Pantomime in Irish Theatre History. Founder and MD of Irish Poster Advertising, the official gig Poster company. Creator of TV3's National Event Guide which give's small Promoter's and Theatre's the opportunity to get their events on TV at low rates.
Agent and Manager for major acts over the years including Celtic Tenors, Sinead Lohan, Phil Coulter, Sandy Kelly and the Dubliner's (with Brian Hand).
Pat lives with his long time partner Helena in Rathmines Dublin, has 4 children Deborah and Graham who live in Toronto, David who is now promoting in Brazil and Layla, his youngest daughter, still at College. Fiona and Farrah, his grand children, live in Toronto.
